In 2016 we honored individuals for performance in 2015. Our banquet is held annually at the Johns Hopkins University's Education Building in Baltimore, Maryland.
This year the Chapter honored officers from Whelan Security, Joint Base Andrews, Howard and Baltimore County Police Departments.

As we started 2017 with a hack to our previous website, this site is a work in progress and will certainly grow over the next few weeks. I hope all enjoyed the holidays and are having a GREAT start to 2017.
In 2016 we hosted the majority of our meetings, seminars and awards with the Maryland Suburban Chapter #106. After discussion with Karen Kiley, CPP the #106 Chapter Chair we have decided to continue that in 2017. In fact Karen has an excellent mentoring program she will be unveiling very soon. This year our Chapters will work to develop our Women in Security and Young Professionals participation.
As we did in 2016 the Chapter will focus on expanding and supporting our relationships with local law enforcement and public safety departments in 2017. Our focus has been to highlight different programs across the State of Maryland that bring value to our communities and develop relationships between law enforcement and the private sector.
In 2016 we assisted the NYPD's Shield Program expand it's reach and three (3) local municipalities Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Baltimore City Police Departments have started Shield Programs that are affiliated with the Shield Network. We hope others will join this important network in the next year. This program while focusing on terrorism is a tremendous resource for building relationships in the community and offers excellent crime fighting abilities.
In 2016 we offered numerous seminars and training opportunities to our membership that we hoped increase their awareness on important topics such as Terrorism Awareness, Active Shooter, Radicalization and De-radicalization, the importance of Situational Awareness and Public/Private Partnerships. We don't plan on slowing down in 2017 already on tap is a seminar with our Shield Partners in May 2017 in Ocean City, MD.
As always the board and I are here to serve the membership of our Chapter, should we be of assistance in anyway, please do not hesitate to ask.
I look forward to seeing each of you this year and thank you for your continued support.
